Running a game

How do I run a game with my class?+
Log in, pick a game in the Library and click Host this game. Put that screen on the projector. Students go to zeyoa.com on any device, type the 6-letter code from the board and a first name, and appear in the lobby. When everyone is in, start the game from your screen.
Do students need accounts or email addresses?+
No. Students never sign up. They type a first name to join, and nothing about them is saved after the game: names and results are erased when the game closes. Only the teacher has an account. See our privacy policy.
What devices work?+
Any phone, tablet, Chromebook or laptop with a web browser. Nothing to install. The teacher's screen works best on a laptop connected to a projector or TV.
How many students can play?+
Up to 80 devices in one game. Some games need a minimum to start: Bazaar 6, Going Once 3, Handshake 4, Founders 4, Bullwhip 3. Every game's card in the Library shows its grades, length and player count.
How long does a game take?+
Most games run 12 to 20 minutes, with a recap at the end to discuss as a class.

During a game

A student closed the tab or their phone died.+
Once the game has started, they open zeyoa.com on the same device and browser and enter the same code. They pick up where they left off. On a different device they would join as a new player. In the lobby, before the game starts, they simply join again.
My projector screen refreshed or closed.+
The game keeps running. Go to your dashboard, find it under Recent sessions and click Reopen. Games that sit idle for 3 hours are closed automatically.
“No game with that code” or “The teacher's screen is not connected yet”+
Check the code on the board (it is not case-sensitive). If the teacher's screen was closed, reopen the game from the dashboard and students can join again.
“Someone already has that name”+
Names must be unique in each game. Add a last initial, like "Sam R".

Plans and billing

What are the options?+
Classroom plan: $50 a year, by card, renews yearly. Lifetime classroom license: $250 once, no renewals, every game including new ones. Code from a skypig game: your first year free. Schools can pay for the yearly plan or the lifetime license by purchase order. See Pricing.
I have a code from a skypig game. Why does it ask for a card?+
The code gives you 12 months free. The card is kept so the plan can continue afterwards at $50 a year. Nothing is charged during the free year, and you can cancel any time before it ends from Billing → Manage subscription & card.
How do I cancel?+
Go to Billing → Manage subscription & card and cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for, and you won't be charged again.
I'm on the yearly plan. Can I switch to lifetime?+
Yes. Buy the lifetime license from Billing. Your yearly plan is set to stop renewing automatically, so you are not charged twice.
My school pays by purchase order.+
On the Billing page, under Pay by invoice or purchase order, choose the yearly plan or the lifetime license and enter your school's accounts-payable email and PO number. We send a Net-30 invoice payable by ACH, check or card. Access starts as soon as it is paid. Our W-9 and vendor details are on the vendor info page.
Several teachers at our school want Zeyoa.+
Each classroom is one teacher account. For several classrooms on one invoice, email [email protected] with the number of classrooms and your PO.
Can I get a refund?+
Yes. Email [email protected] within 30 days of any charge (a new plan, a renewal or a lifetime license) and we'll refund it in full. See the terms.

Your account and transfers

I'm leaving the school. What happens to our plan?+
Hand the whole classroom account to the next teacher: Billing → Hand this classroom to another teacher. Enter their email; we email them a link (you can also copy it and send it yourself). They set their own name and password, and the account becomes theirs with its plan, lifetime license and game history. You are signed out, and any card you saved is removed so you are never charged for their renewal.
How often can an account be transferred?+
Once a year on your own. If you need another transfer sooner, for example a mid-year staffing change, email [email protected].
The transfer link doesn't work.+
Links work once and expire after 14 days. The previous teacher can create a new one from Billing, which also cancels the old one.
It says the new teacher's email already has an account.+
Two accounts can't be merged. Use a different email for the new teacher, or email [email protected] and we'll help.
I forgot my password.+
Click Forgot password? on the log in page and we'll email you a link to choose a new one. It expires in an hour, so check spam if it doesn't arrive. Still stuck? Email [email protected].
I need to change my account email.+
Email [email protected] from your current address with the new one.

Still stuck?

Email [email protected]. Include your account email and, for a game problem, the game and roughly when it happened.
